This Day in American Military History

25 September 2007: The MQ-9 Reaper’s first operational mission occurred when the drone flew over Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom. The Reaper, a larger and heavily armed version of the MQ-1 Predator, provided intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance capabilities and the ability to attack time-sensitive targets quickly and precisely.
